Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the Members of the PACE Monitoring Committee, present in Ukraine with two-day visit on the invitation of the Chairman of Ukrainian Parliament. At the beginning of the meeting Arseniy Yatseniuk thanked the guests for the work they are doing for Ukraine and emphasized the necessity of those legal evaluations coming from the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe.
«We had extraordinary elections, but have not yet reached political stability. At the same time, at this point next extraordinary elections is not the only way of political crisis elimination. Ukrainian politicians have to join hands with each other for the sake of stability. And this is our way of young democracy.» - Arseniy Yatseniuk stressed in his speech.
Arseniy Yatseniuk has also thanked the Members of the PACE Monitoring Committee for recommendations concerning changes in domestic election legislature and emphasized on the necessity of reforming of current election system of Ukraine.
Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada has not disregarded the issue of Constitutional Reform. In Speaker´s opinion, «To date politicians use Constitutional reform as weapon in political struggle. Whereas Constitution is a document of nation, but not politicians. Therefore, I think, there´s no reasons to create new Constitution, we have only to introduce changes into the Constitution, which would eliminate political gaps inside the basic law. This will stabilize the situation. At present the process of Constitutional reform has to be stopped.» - Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada stressed during the meeting with the Members of the PACE Monitoring Committee.
